You’ve already bought the tapware. You just need it fitted
The taps are in a box in the hallway. You got them at the price you wanted. Now you need someone to put them on the wall.
That’s a job I’ll take. Some won’t, or they’ll want a call-out fee before they’ll even look at it.
I fit tapware and mixers that customers have bought themselves. From Reece, from an online supplier, from wherever you found them. If something won’t work with your existing pipework, I’ll tell you before I start. And I’ll tell you what it would take to make it work.

One thing worth knowing. I warrant my work, not your fixture. If the tap itself fails, that sits with you and the supplier. If it leaks because of how it was fitted, that’s mine to fix.
Bought a vanity? Don’t cut the drawers
Here’s what nobody tells you when you buy a vanity.
The old one had the waste coming out of the wall or the floor in one spot. The new one has drawers where that spot is.
So you get two choices. Cut the back out of the drawers and lose the storage you paid for. Or move the waste.
I move the waste.
That’s the real job in a vanity swap. It’s also why “it’s just a vanity, how hard can it be” turns into a Saturday you don’t get back.
What‘s Involved
- Isolate the water and disconnect the old vanity…
- Take the old unit out without damaging the wall or floor…
- Realign the waste and the water to suit the new one…
- Fit the vanity, connect the tapware, test it all…
- Check for leaks before I leave…
Flat-pack, wall-hung, freestanding or double basin. The bit that changes is the waste. That’s the bit I sort out.

A renovation and a refresh are different jobs. The difference is worth thousands.
A renovation moves walls. It needs a builder, it needs approvals, and it takes weeks.
A refresh keeps the room where it is and changes what’s in it. New vanity. New tapware. New shower fittings. New tiles if you want them. Same footprint, same pipes, same drains.
For that you need a tiler and a plumber. That’s the whole trade list.

Every bathroom is different. I’m not going to put a number on this page that turns out to be wrong when I see your job.
What I will do is come and look at it, tell you what it will cost, and not start until you’ve agreed to it.
No hourly rate ticking over while you wonder how it’s going. And if I find something behind the wall, I stop and tell you. You decide what happens next, not me.

Common questions
Will you fit tapware I bought myself?
Yes. I fit tapware, mixers and fixtures that customers have bought themselves, from Reece, from online suppliers, or from anywhere else. I warrant the installation. The fixture itself is covered by whoever sold it to you.
Do I need a builder to renovate a bathroom?
Not if you’re refreshing rather than renovating. If the walls stay where they are and the room keeps the same footprint, you need a tiler and a licensed plumber. A builder is needed when walls move or the structure changes.
What is the difference between a bathroom refresh and a renovation?
A refresh replaces what’s in the room — vanity, tapware, shower fittings, tiles — and keeps the layout. A renovation changes the layout, which means moving pipes and drains, and usually a builder and approvals.
Do I need a plumber to change a bathroom tap?
In New South Wales, yes. Tapware connected to the water supply is licensed plumbing work. A licensed plumber can also issue a compliance certificate, which matters when you sell.
Why won’t my new vanity fit over the old plumbing?
Because the waste pipe usually lands where the new drawers are. The two options are cutting the drawer backs out, which loses storage, or moving the waste to suit the new unit. Moving the waste is the better job.
Do you work with my tiler?
Yes. On a refresh I do the strip-out before the tiler starts and come back for the fit-off once they’re done. I work to their dates.

Are you licensed?
Yes. NSW contractor licence 472100C, held in my own name, with no conditions on it. It covers four classes: plumber, drainer, gasfitter and LP gasfitter. You can look it up yourself on the NSW Fair Trading register.
